Returning MolBio Stuff

Returning MolBio Kitchen Stuff
Procedure
- In the main lab and in the MolBio Bench (across the hall and down a little, ask someone to show you) there are large plastic containers used to collect empty Kitchen bottles and other washables. In the main lab, this container is directly below the 2xGDH2O; in the Bench area, it is just to the left of the sink.
- Note that this is NOT used fish-safe or non-fish-safe containers that we wash ourselves. These are used things that came from the MolBio kitchen in the first place, e.g. reusable pipettes (used ones located next to Little Warm Room door), empty bottles of Sterile H2O or Tris, etc.
- Pipette boxes may be taken to the Kitchen for rewashing only if they do not have grooves down the sides. If the box has grooves down the sides, it must be put in hard plastic recycling.
- Put the containers on a cart and take them down to the MolBio kitchen (located over in Klamath, ask someone to show you). Go in the second door to the back area and put all of the stuff on the counter next to the sink on your left.
- Bring the now-empty large containers back to the labs.
A Note on Pipettes
- Used pipettes can be taken to the Kitchen in the metal container that goes in the big jar of water (next to Little Warm Room). This metal container belongs to the KLab, so when you get to the Kitchen, place the pipettes directly in one of the buckets on your right.
- Whenever you take the pipettes back, you should dump the water in the jar and replace it with clean water with a little bit of dish soap.
