Recycling Styrofoam boxes
Styrofoam boxes are shipped in a variety of ways and there are three main procedures for recycling them.
- Styrofoam box has a return shipping label.
- Make sure the styrofoam box is empty.
- Use a marker to black-out any portion of the box that has a bar code or mentions the temperature of the box.
- Fill in the required information for the shipping label.
- Securely seal the box using packing tape.
- Take the box to the 2nd floor for shipping.
- Styrofoam box is in a cardboard box without a shipping label.
- The lab is able to reuse these boxes so store them for a later date.
- The usual place to store them is underneath the bench just outside Bonnie's office.
- If there is no space try a different location or use the procedure for a styrofoam box without a cardboard container.
- Styrofoam box is not in a cardboard box and does not have a shipping label.
- These should be recycled, the can be placed by the recycling cans towards the front of the 3rd floor.
