Styrofoam boxes are shipped in a variety of ways and there are three main procedures for recycling them.

  1. Styrofoam box has a return shipping label.
    1. Make sure the styrofoam box is empty.
    2. Use a marker to black-out any portion of the box that has a bar code or mentions the temperature of the box.
    3. Fill in the required information for the shipping label.
    4. Securely seal the box using packing tape.
    5. Take the box to the 2nd floor for shipping.
  2. Styrofoam box is in a cardboard box without a shipping label.
    1. The lab is able to reuse these boxes so store them for a later date.
    2. The usual place to store them is underneath the bench just outside Bonnie's office.
    3. If there is no space try a different location or use the procedure for a styrofoam box without a cardboard container.
  3. Styrofoam box is not in a cardboard box and does not have a shipping label.
