Planned power outages

Please make sure everyone gets the message including the student researchers who might be planning on using PCR machines, etc. We don't use our Kimmel Lab electronic equipment on during planned outages or brief interruptions, i.e. any incidence where the electricity will be going on and off.

A designated lab mate will turn off everything not being used on the afternoon before the outage. Freezers and refrigerators are already on emergency power.

If you are using any electronic equipment when the Kimmel Lab electronics are unplugged, please unplug it yourself before you leave by unplugging the power strip from the wall. If you find a power strip unplugged that you need on, you can plug it in if it’s before the scheduled time, but please unplug again when you're done.

Please don't unplug the individual pieces of equipment from the power strips because some of them are set up in specific ways.

You are responsible for turning off your electronics in your offices.
