Microscope Room

Mark Sasaki is the Room Honcho. Please get trained by Mark, Bonnie or Chuck before you use the equipment.

Please sign up in the books when you use the equipment.

Please note any problems with the equipment, especially error messages! Please let Mark, Bonnie, Chuck or another post-doc know if there’s a problem that needs fixing.

If you are new to our room and have a question, please don't be satisfied until you’ve found one of the above old-timers and pros. It’s considered poor protocol in the Kimmel Lab to ask the undergrads how to use expensive equipment.

Please don’t try to change the lamps unless you’ve been trained!

Please sign up on the white board to reserve your time on the equipment. Presently, we are signing up for the week before our lab meeting. The confocal is the most used piece of equipment, so we all gather to work out our weekly schedules together.

All equipment must be turned off, including the power strips and the plastic covers put on. Room leaks!

Please leave the scopes in the posted shut down configurations, especially including leaving the correct objectives in place on the scope and leaving the stages in the up position.

Please clean up and take all your tools and supplies with you to leave space for the next guy.

Small room, many people! Think communal!
