Embyro Medium pH Check

To pH embryo medium in the Kimmel Lab, we use the pH paper strips. Find the one that has pH 7.0 in the center of the pH range of the paper. Put a small aliquot of the EM in a small beaker and leave the pH paper strip immersed for at least 10 minutes (Instructions on the paper strips say to allow lots of time for strip to register pH accurately in weakly buffered solutions. Sodium Bicarbonate is a weak buffer). Throw away the small sample of EM. EM should be close to neutral, between about 6.5 and 7.5.
